Every year 26th of August is celebrated as the Women’s Equality Day, which focuses on forging a gender-equal world, and give applause to the women’s successes, and raising awareness of their powerful contribution in the biased environment. There’s a lot of discussion around women in the workplace and underrepresentation in industry. It seems that more women are turning to business than ever before. The most surprising fact is that the quantum of women entrepreneurs is increasing every year. Women entrepreneurs as generally defined are those women or group of women who establish, organize, and manage a business enterprise. In simpler terms the concept of innovative entrepreneurs would be, women who imitate and adopt a business activity. In recent years there has been a growing keenness among the authors and academicians to understand and analyses the development in the field of women entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurship is in an adolescence stage. Traditionally women have played a significant role in the larger entrepreneurship and economic development of any country. The present paper intends to study the important role played by the women entrepreneurs and the problems faced by them. An effort has also been made to outline the problems faced by them and the reasons behind the slow growth of their numbers and investment.
