Title

Design of E-Vehicle Charging System using Renewable PV-Wind Resources

Abstract

The main aim of the work is to design a prototype model to charge an electrical vehicle (EV) using renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy. For this purpose, a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) with rated power capacity of (2kW, 24volts) and PV panel with (0.2kWp, 24 Volts) are connected with a separate 24V, charge controller to avoid voltage fluctuation and reverse conduction during charging. This work is to design a renewable power charging capacity of 2.2kW at 24V to charge a battery potential at 24V .The Battery of the EV can charge at 72V, 26Ah with the total charging time of 8hr and 12 minutes with a three sets of 24V battery string connected in series to give 42Ah. This arrangement can charge EV battery with renewable energy and can give no energy cost spending, pollution free energy with reducing carbon emissions for the increased EV energy with the increased EV energy demand in near future from these sustainable resources.
