It is generally believed, that mammals do not possess power of limb regeneration. Some reports on repair and regeneration of tissues in mammals show that mammals too possess reparative and regenerative response to the injury, although limited. Vitamin A and its derivatives (Retinoid) have been found to influence the developmental potencies of blastimal cells of regenerating limb is amphibian. Young mice (two week) were design to found retinoid on post amputational changes in finger following amputation through Head of middle phalanx. Studies after 5 and 10 day post amputation, as control and Retinoid treated. In control or untreated indicate possibility of restitution of base distal phalanx. In retinoid treated cases indicates delayed differentiation. This study shows retinoid plays an important role in regeneration and found regenerative ability is resituated.
