Human development focuses on the richness of human lives rather than on the richness of economies. The levels of human development have improved all over the world. In this paper we have analyzed the human development index (HDI) for the years 1990 to 2015 of top five countries among 188 countries and made a comparison between them and with India and Pakistan also. Time series models are used for prediction of HDI for these countries for the years 2016 to 2030. From our analysis we conclude that India will reach at the score 0.6318 in 2018 than Pakistan will cover this much score in 2029, i.e. still Pakistan will remain long behind than India by more than 10 years. Thus India possesses more richness of human lives than Pakistan.

Quality of human lives, expected years of schooling, mean years of schooling, gross national income, Holt model, ARIMA.
