TOURISM AND HERITAGE CONSERVATION IN AJMER DISTRICT
Abstract
Tourism is an important segment of the Indian economy, contributing about 5.3% of the country s GDP. The tourism sector is a broad industry comprising wide array of operators from hotels to local transport players. Thus the tourism industry makes an important impact on the local economy of the region and generates large employment opportunities. The present survey with the objective of assessing the tourism impact on society and environment, the economic implications of tourism on host community, motivational and behavioural patterns of tourist. Environment related problems were also given due research scope in order to draw a relevant conclusion.
