In present study we evaluate anticonvulsant and anxiolytic activities petroleum ether (PE) extract of Caesalpinia bonducella (Caesalpiniceae) in MES, PTZ, picrotoxin, and Strychnine induced convulsion in mice. The anti-anxiety activity evaluated by using Stair Case Test, Elevated Plus-Maze Test, Hole-Board Apparatus, Mirror Chamber Test and Light-Dark Model and Open Field Behavioral Model. The maximum percent protection in PTZ , MES, Picrtoxin and strychnine induced convulsion PECB( 800mg/kg) that is approx equivalent to standard drug Diazepam and phenytoin. The PECB (800mg/kg) dose shows maximum positive response in anxiety disorder as compared to standard drug diazepam
