Title

Economic Dispatch With Prohibited Zones Using Flower Pollination Algorithm

Abstract

This paper presents application of Flower Pollination Algorithm(FPA) for solving Economic Load Dispatch problem considering Transmission loss, Valve point loading effect and Prohibited operating zones. Flower pollination algorithm is a nature inspired optimization algorithm motivated by the characteristics of flowering plants. Potency of the algorithm is tested on six unit system. The promising results show the quick convergence and effectiveness of the Flower Pollination algorithm.
