Title

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERISATION OF NOVEL COPPER OXIDE NANOPARTICLES BY HYDROTHERMAL PROCESS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN CATALYTIC AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

Abstract

The CuO nanoparticles are synthesized from copper nitrate trihydrate aqueous solution under the hydrothermal method at 300°C. The average crystallite size is calculated from Scherrer’s equation. FESEM, EDX, XRD, UV-visible, and FTIR are used to characterize the structural character of the product. FTIR spectra confirmed the adsorption of the CuO nanoparticles. This method is suitable for large-scale production of CuO nanoparticles for practical.
