Title

Antimicrobial Activity of the Tissue Extracts of Menippe rumphii (Fabricius, 1798)

Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to find out the antimicrobial activity of different tissue extracts of the crab Menippe rumphii against four bacterial strains and two fungal strains by disc diffusion method. Two positive control amikasin and flucanozole was also used among the different tissue extracts, antibacterial activity of ethanolic extracts of egg from Menippe rumphii showed the highest activity against Enterobacter and Proteus mirabilis. The results of present study revealed the ethanolic extract of different tissues of Menippe rumphii showed the best antimicrobial activity.
