From the seventeenth century onwards, English language started to spread over the world. It is due to some of the important factors such as the power of the British Empire, Industrial Revolution taking place in England for the first time and also the supremacy of America all over the world. Thus, English has become a global language in the past fifty years as it is the official language of the international and multinational companies and industries, and most importantly, the language of Internet. Internet have a huge impact in the development of English language as many new words are coined by netizens which leads to the neologism. This paper entitled, “Impact of Internet in English language” focuses on the development of English language with regard to the internet and also traces how technology helps in the development of a language in this digital era.
