Environmental consciousness is the order today. “Go Green “is the latest paradigm which has taken precedence in each and every aspect related to business. Business no longer should concentrate on profit and wealth maximization, but also on preservation and conservation of the vast resources nature has gifted us. Hence the radical thrust on “Green Banking” is utmost important. ‘Green Banking’ is an umbrella term referring to practices and guidelines that make banks sustainable in economic environment and social dimensions. It aims to make banking processes and the use of IT and Physical infrastructure as efficient and effective as possible, with zero or minimal impact on the environment. The Study highlights to conduct a review on available literature on ‘Green Banking’ and explore the problems of implementing Green aspect in the area of banking, thereby emphasize on ethical responsibility of doing business and contribute towards sustainable development.
