Title

Trichoderma as biocontrol agent against pests: new uses for a mycoparasites

Authors

Abstract

The primary parasite in farming production, insects seriously reduce crop output and preservation. Trichoderma is a species of filamentous fungi that has received extensive research and is employed as a biological control in farming against fungal pathogens because, among many other modes of action, it can parasitic insects them (mycoparasitism). Trichoderma use in agricultural is indeed efficient not just against plant infections as well as against predatory insects, and it represents a potential solution in the advancement of sustainable farming. With parasitic infection and the generation of pesticidal bioactive molecules, antiparasitic substances, and repelling metabolic products, Trichoderma directly affects insects as a process may occur. Trichoderma has been used as a biologically diseases and pests control agent, producing up to 100% fatality rates both in the laboratories and the fields. Even though further research in the field and against other insect species is needed before Trichoderma may be used as a biological control for predatory insects, it’s both direct and indirect efficacy makes it a viable possibility for agricultural crop future health maintenance.
