Family Socialisation and Its Effect on Financial Literacy among School Children in Thrissur, Kerala
Abstract
Finance has long been regarded as the backbone of individual and collective life. From household budgeting to global trade, financial practices influence the capacity of people and institutions alike to sustain themselves, manage risks, and envision secure futures. As Robert W. Sarnoff once observed, “Finance is the art of passing money from hand to hand until it finally disappears,” a statement that captures both its ubiquity and fragility. The seriousness of financial knowledge, what we term financial literacy, is particularly pressing in societies undergoing social and technological transformation.
