Title

ELECTRICITY BILLING SWITCHING SYSTEM

Abstract

The main objective of the project is to develop a GSM based system which can cut off the supply through SMS. Electricity department sends employees to cut the supply of the consumer if the electricity bill is not paid which in turn is an expensive, risky and time consuming job. The proposed project provides a convenient and efficient method to avoid this problem. The electricity department can cut the supply of consumers via SMS. It shows the construction and working of the device to wirelessly control the power cut off using relay circuit and microcontroller ATMEGA-328. Initially the data from the controller is sent to the high voltage relays and then sent to the electric service cables. The controller is also supplied with battery supply to maintain continuous supply. All these are connected to the service wire of consumer which supplies electricity to consumers home. The GSM is used for locating the position of the pole on which the circuit is placed. Thus the electricity distribution company can cut the power supply directly from its office itself if the consumer will not pay the electricity bill.
