Title

Effects of fibre Volume on Workability and Density of Concrete

Abstract

This research is based on the investigation of the use of steel fibres in structural concrete to enhance the mechanical properties of concrete for high strength concrete. The workability of concrete significantly reduced as the fiber dosage rate increases. This was assessed through standard slump test. In these research fresh concrete properties of concrete is considered workability, slump loss, Density Loss of concrete is necessary to investigate. As more workable concrete gives better results in comparison with less workable concrete. In general many times it is observed that on construction sites water is added to concrete to have good workabily. Infact more is water less is strength. A total of eleven mix batches of concrete containing 0% to 5% with an interval of 0.5% by wt. of cement. ‘Hooked’ steel fibres were used with normal concrete without fibers and compressive strength. Super plasticizer (SP) are suggested to have control on workabily.
