Title

High Strength Concrete Mixes Using Nano Silica Composites

Abstract

In the present experimental investigation, nano silica is employed in combination with other mineral admixtures like fly ash, and condensed silica fume. the percentage of nano silica is varied from 0 to 5 percent by weight of cement. fly ash percentages are varied in three stages like 0, 10 and 20. similarly the percentages of condensed silica fume are varied as 0,5 and 10. two types of triple blended concrete mixes with nano silica and fly ash and nano silica with csf were tried with various percentage replacements of cement in high strength concrete mixes m60 and m80. tests were conducted for strength properties. test results have been encouraging. optimum combinations of admixtures are recommended. the results would serve as a practical guide for further study on nano materials in concrete so as to obtain superior high performance concrete mixes. the use of mineral admixtures in considerable proportions would contribute towards sustainability of concrete composites being employed in the construction industry.
