In this investigation, fly ash and grass ash has been used to stabilize the soil so that it’s swelling behavior control and becomes very small. The present paper deals with the evaluation of Free swell index and swell pressure of black cotton soil with fly ash and grass, which are individually varying proportions (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%). From Preliminary investigations it can be said Fly ash content increase the free swell index and swell pressure decreased were observed. 20% of fly ash content cause the decrease of free swell index 62.02 (%) and swell pressure 70.61 (%). Grass ash content increase the free swell index and swell pressure decreased were observed. 20 (%) of grass ash content cause the decrease of free swell index 63.29 (%) and swell pressure 72.96 (%).
