Research gap: Lack of research evidence on the self confidence levels of Physicians to handle the International patients. Objective: To find the Physicians confidence level, awareness, knowledge and attraction towards the International medical tourism patients. Research methodology: A descriptive survey method was used to analyse the Physicians perspective to handle International medical tourism patients in Chennai city hospitals. Findings: The results reveal that 66.6% of the physicians were confident about their knowledge and skill to handle international patients very effectively. 22.2% of the physicians rated themselves effective in their skill and knowledge, whereas 11.1% rated satisfactory. None of them rated dissatisfactory in their knowledge and skill. Implications: The Chennai city which is the hub of International medical tourism patients in India has effective, skilled and knowledgeable physicians in enough numbers. The confidence of the physicians identified through this study justifies a good prospect for the Chennai city hospitals to handle International patients.
