Title

REVIEW OF MONITORING SYSTEMS USED IN ROUTE PLANNING FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Abstract

Electric vehicles are increasingly seen as a means of reducing Carbon emissions for transport operation. The number of Electric Vehicle (EV) is increasing around the world; hence that making EVs user friendly becomes more important. The main challenge in usage of EV is the charging time required for the batteries used in EV. The electric vehicle is a new consumer of electricity that is becoming more and more widespread. This paper presents a review of some monitoring systems that are used in route plan for EV along with power consumption, traffic information, whether condition, vehicle characteristics, driver profile and electric charging stations position. Commonly Dijkstra algorithm is used to calculate the shortest path that minimizes the travel time. System architecture is considered for the optimal route planning of EVs. Optimizing power consumption & increasing vehicle autonomy is designed. This paper helps to improve the driving range, time to travel of EVs when plan for a trip.
