This paper tries to cite the myriad themes related to the social disturbances delineated in the film Varathan (2018). Society got contaminated relentlessly with the irrational behaviour of modern man. The film approaches the issues of Saudivalkaranam, trespassing, male gaze, violence against women, Durabhimanakola [honour killing], ‘society’s attitude towards Varthan/Outsider, Sadachara police [moral police], critically as well as sarcastically. All these disputes denote the murderous cancer experienced by the contemporary society. The film sheds new light with the heroine’s new feministic concerns. As a whole the film could be treated as an exemplification of the prevailing social disabilities. This paper focuses on these diseases infected in the society. The film became a critique of the disabilities of the present society, which causes moral degradation without doubt.
