ABSTRACT During the floristic study of the myxomycetes of this region author come across a number of myxomycetous species. Present paper deals with the Seventeenth report in this series. The genus was erected by J. F. Gmel, in 1791. Since the erection of the genus five species was described and reported from world. The genus Tubifera Gmel is characterized by sporangia cylindric or ellipsoidal, free or connate on usually thick, spongy hypothallus forming pseudoaethalium. Martin and Alexopoulos (1969) described five species. From India the genus is represented by three species. In the present work the genus is being described with two species i. e. Tubifera ferrugiosa (Batsch.) J. F. Gmel., and Tubifera Microsperma (Berk & Curt.) Martin. The genus is being reported for the first time from Madhya Pradesh.
