Title

IMPACT OF EDUCATION ON SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT OF TRANSGENDERS IN KERALA

Abstract

Education helps to the all round development of an individual and is greatly influence the development of their behavior. Education is a powerful tool for empowering the individual. This study analyses the relationship between social empowerment and education of Trans genders in Kerala State. Hence, the study focuses on the social empowerment in relation to education among Trans Genders. In this study social empowerment is measured as the composite score of components such as (1) Importance of Education, (2) Influence of Media (3) Health awareness (4) Social Participation. The necessary data for the study was collected through a personal data sheet regarding the Educational details of the Trans Genders and Social Empowerment Assessment Scale. Sample consists of 102 Trans Genders. Mean, Standard Deviation, Percentage analysis and t-test was used to analyze the data. The study proved that social empowerment of Trans Genders has strong positive correlation with education. This leads to improve their thinking ability
