Human resource management is one of the developing areas of an organizations’ research. Organizations consider its workforce as its core competence as it is crucial for the organizations to assign the correct employee to the correct job within the budget constraints to gain a competitive advantage. Hence, this study was carried out on an Indian IT company to assign their employees in a cost-efficient manner and as per their need. Data was collected as provided by the company staff regarding the number of people required for the job, their cost per employee per job and their minor and master budgets. Finally, operations research using assignment problems and simplex was utilized to conclude the ideal assignment of employees within the budget constraints. IT sector has a cut-throat competition in terms of their costs on their main assets; the human resources, which leads to the need of an effective human resource management in the recent era.
