This study deals with the wide concept of Feminism, its meaning and various phases that had been put forward by females in India. The subjugation of woman is a central fact of history and it is the main cause of all psychological disorders in society. The constitution of India has granted equal rights to both men and women but still women face extreme discrimination and violence and thus occupies low status in Society. This study carries put a research on a first phase of women’s struggle to get freedom and equal rights to that of male counterparts. Secondly, it deals with the women’s movement started from 1970 to till now. This study is also concerned about female’s education rights, health issues, status at their house and at their working place, job opportunities, social status of women, land and property rights, causes of violence against women and reproductive health of women in India.
