In an international market an exporter has to be conscious about quality aspects of his products as compared to his competitors. To stay in the market, it is important that the firm keeps a close watch on its competitors and tries to maintain comparable standards with them. The objective of the present study is to find out how the exporters view the quality aspect of their product and take this factor into consideration while taking decision about selling the products under their own label or importers label. An industry-wise analysis brings out that the quality of the products is perceived to be better than most of their counter parts at domestic level in the case of Textile and Engineering industry units. While food industry units find quality to be of comparable level with other units. While making comparison with international exporters, majority of Indian exporters of the three industries at Haryana were of the opinion that they have competitive edge over their competitors.
