Title

A comparative study of educational thought of Allama iqbal and moulana Azad and relevance in contemporary educational world

Abstract

The main aim of the present study was to analyze the role and contribution of Muslim educationists Allama Iqbal and ibn khaldun . The main objective of the study was to examine the role of these philosophers in different perspectives. For the study philosophical and historical methods were employed. The primary and secondary sources related to ibn khaldun and Iqbals educational philosophy were evaluated after detailed analysis. The general philosophical tools for the study which were used in the present investigation are induction, deduction, dialectical, analysis and synthesis. The study revealed that educationists and teachers duty is not only to acquaint the students with subject matter, principles and generalizations but also inculcate in them a sense of research and criticism
