This article illustrates the food image of Mangalore known for its popular cuisine. An online survey was conducted; The sample size is restricted to about 69 tourists including both domestic and foreign, within the study area by using random sampling. About 6 people from Govt. and Non- govt. tourism organization also been interviewed. The results revealed that in general, Mangalore had the most favorable food image and the highest potential to be visited in the future. Significant positive relationships were found between food image and visit intentions. The study also concludes that travelers' purchase decisions were significantly influenced by different types of information sources. Conclusions and implications were drawn based on the research findings. This study would be particularly useful for destinations interested in promoting culinary tourism.
