The dimensions of networks have augmented enormously in the recent years. Day by day, the number of network users are swiftly accumulating which reflects the growth of network traffic as well. In this exploration paper, our impetus is to investigate packets of TCP by using tool called Wireshark. This paper focuses on sniffing network traffic and understanding the working of Network sniffing tool Wireshark. We can generate reports on the basis of analyzed traffic. Wireshark is a free and open-source network protocol analyzer. Wireshark is able to seize packets transmitted over the network and accumulate statistics about network usage, allow the user to view content that is being accessed by other network users, and store usage information for offline access. For large network it’s very complicated task to monitor the network, because large number of packets are available.
