Abstract: Intensive research has been done on optical character recognition (OCR) and a large number of articles have been published on this topic during the last few decades. This research work deals with the feature extraction and Classification of Guajarati number recognition. Many researchers are working on the handwritten Guajarati number recognition. The Gujarati script was adapted from the Devanagari script to write the Gujarati language. This paper intends to bring Gujarati character recognition in attention. Methods based on artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM) and naive Bayes (NB) classifier are exercised for handwritten Gujarati numerals recognition and average accuracy of recognition is 98.33%.
