Title

Real time performance analysis of 160kwp grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic system

Abstract

In the real world the performance of the grid connected solar Photovoltaic system seems to be very high. Now a days the optimistic utilization of renewable energy has become a great challenge and the mechanisms to increase the performance of the PV System is increasing day by day. Solar energy is abundant energy source on the earth and the major industries or organizations are looking at grid connected PV system as an alternative in generating electrical energy at a larger rate of production. The real time Performance analysis of the grid connected solar plant implemented at any industry or organization can give a very detailed and clear understanding on the main objectives like design of the solar plant, how difficult or easy from operating of the plant stand point and finally the maintenance of the plant. A 160KWP grid connected Solar plant is established in VBIT, which is one of the reputed institutions in Hyderabad. The main objective of this study is to analyze a 160 KWP grid connected solar photovoltaic system using roofs of VBIT institute and to determine its technical and financial performance using SYSTEM ADVISOR MODEL(SAM) software and also do a thorough analysis on annual energy generation, energy savings per year and the carbon emission reduction. The average number of units generated by solar plant per month was recorded as 17600 KWhr and the percentage of units generated by solar plant exported to Grid is around 26% on an average. There is a huge increase in the savings after installing the Grid connected solar plant which is in detailed explained in this paper.
