The Assamese novels were published in the last decade of the eighteen century. It was began towards the historical Novel. Padmanath Gohainbaruah’s Bhanumoti is the first novel history of Assamese Literature. During the first stage of Assamese novel writers can wrote several numbers of historical novels. But middle age of the last century Assamese novel had vast changed because of new literary concept and socio-economies condition of Assam. So trend and Tendencies of Assamese novels ware changed during the post-independence period. New socialistic novel, physiological novel , Political novel, biographical novel were wrote in this period. Along with, the way of historical novels was also changed, comparatively in this period writing of historical novel became decrease. But in the sixth’s-seventies, some writers began to wrote historical novel but its features and structure were changed. On the other hand, traditionally it has been written historical novel by some writers. After all, the historical novel of post independence became changed.
