Fishes are important both in an ecological and economical manner. They represent a group of vertebrates with diverse behavioral and reproductive strategies and also play a key role in the food chain with their dual roles as predator and prey. Over the past two decades the production of fish meal is endured rather in balance. Immunostimulants are a most promising and useful tool for the contraceptive treatment of farmed fish and shrimp. It is secure than chemotherapeutics and their range of effect is wider than vaccination. The peanut or groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) has been considered not only as a highly nutritious food source for human beings but also a natural starting material for the production of soap and machine oil. The specimens of Cyprinus carpio were obtained from a private fish farm, Chidambaram, Tamilnadu, India. The NBT assay was carried out on 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th days post immunization and hematological parameters were studied.
