ABSTRACT: Stress has become significant due to dynamic social factor and changing needs of life styles. Stress is man‘s adaptive reaction to an outward situation which would lead to physical, mental and behavioural changes. Even though stress kills brain cells, not all stresses are destructive in nature. Women entrepreneurship is considered an important tool in enabling women empowerment. This paper looks at the literature around women entrepreneurs, focusing stress of women entrepreneurs resulting from multiple-roles in terms of general orientation, attitude to sex roles, and coping orientation and a stress model for women entrepreneurs. It is also need for appraising coping potential of women and enhancing their stress base. It is important to research on stress and self-concept.
