India is the second most populous country in the world where more then 75% people are living in the rural areas in very touch and challenging condition. Agriculture and its allied activities are only natural source of there employment,especially for the women living in rural areas. In the circumstances, to provide opportunity to employment and alternative source of income, development of entrepreneurial quality,ability and skill in women is required necessary. The entrepreneurship development programs can be very useful to provide better opportunity to rural women for improving their living standard. In India, women have played a key role in the society but their entrepreneurial ability has not been properly tapped due to the lower status of women in the society. Fore the real development of any family, society or nation, it is necessary to pay attention over the women empowerment and make them aware about their power, status, talents, right and existence. Women entrepreneurship leads to self-fulfillment and economic stability for women. The present paper is an attempt to highlight the role of rural women entrepreneurs in a tough and challenging environment. The study will high lights the obstacle and challenges faced by the women entrepreneurs in rural areas and improving the Rural Women Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
