Title

Cognitive Neuro science and Instructional strategies in Mathematics

Abstract

As research in Cognitive Neuroscience expands, we are very likely to discover more about how the human brain grows, develops and learns. These discoveries offer educators and parents exciting opportunities for deciding what kind of learning experiences children and adolescents should have to develop for full potential. The student’s ability to learning mathematics largely depends up on the quality of instruction provided in the classrooms. The teaching strategy for the modern period must suit to the requirements and capabilities of present day children. This paper attempts to focus on the new teaching model, cognitive apprenticeship that will help the learners to be problem solvers and encourage collaborative problem solving. This may be a more effective way to teach mathematics than traditional instruction.
