Growth is an increase in Mass or size accompanied by the synthesis of macromolecules, leading to the production of a new organised structure. Cochrane (1958) has proposed a scientific definition of growth. According to him, growth denotes an increase in either mass or number of cells. Fungi require different constituents in varying quantities for their growth. It is well known fact that the medium mayy be suitable for one fungus and other for another. From the perusal of the Table-01, both the fungi i.e. F. oxysporum F.Sp. pisi and F.Solani F.Sp. Pisi showed the best growth on Richard's medium followed in order to preference by Czapek's, Asthana, Hawker's Glucose peptone medium. Minimum growth was obtained in Potato Dextrose - Agar medium.
