Title

Application of Topological Optimization in Weight Minimization of Arm Manipulator Assembly

Abstract

The recent trends in manufacturing drastically changed due to COVID pandemic which completely changed or altered the conventional DFM (design for manufacturing) technique. The ability of AM (additive manufacturing) to print custom made components at home has made it a viable option for many small and medium enterprises. The current research is intended to optimize design of robotic component using techniques of topological optimization. The CAD modelling of generic and optimized design of robotic component is performed using Creo design software and FEA evaluation is conducted using ANSYS FEA software. The comparative studies is performed for lattice structure design, topological optimized design and generic design.
