Title

Aung San suu kyi a Bystander or an actor in Rohingya crisis.

Abstract

Aung san sui kyi, a renowned leader, a great orator, Nobel-Peace prize winner, eminent political personality and much more. Not only viewed as pro-democracy and human rights activist, but is also regarded as the symbol of unity for the entire Burma. Her status as the daughter of Burma’s national hero, Aung San, makes her more famous before the eyes of Burma’s people. Indeed, bearing all this given-status, Aung San Suu Kyi was expected to play a Pivotal role in resolving the Rohingya conflict. In fact her Silence, surprised various parties, particularly foreign governments and organizations that regard Suu Kyi for her effort in struggling, fighting and advocating of human rights. The aim of this paper is to illuminate how Aung San Suu Kyi has changing her role and public image in regards to the disastrous political situation in Myanmar and the ongoing persecution of the Rohingya. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the role of Aung san sukyi during and post Rohingya crisis. This will cover questions like who is Aung san sukyi, why she is remaining silent on Rohingya crisis, what are the reasons behind her silence, why She is acting as a spectator. It will also include the response of International leaders and some powerful organizations regarding her role, she played in Rohingya crisis. Researcher made use of both primary as well as secondary methods for collection of data. Primary sources include official reports and secondary sources include Articles, journals, news paper reports etc.
