Abstract
This paper is an attempt to study the demographic aspects of ageing or ageing population in India. Population Ageing is a global phenomenon whereby proportion of children in the population decreases and those of elderly person increases. This is the outcome of demographic transition. The study has analyzed various challenges of ageing of population has been discussed and along with this many policy implication are suggested for the country facing ageing of population. India is undergoing through the phase of demographic transition where reduction in fertility and mortality have resulted in population ageing.
