The Research Paper Arundhati Roy: A Cry of a Woman for Women explores the elements of Feminism in Arundhati Roy’s novel “The God of Small Things”.. The aim of this essay is to critically evaluate Arundhati Roy’s novel The God of Small Things from a postcolonial feminist point of view. The orthodox and conservative society of ours has always underestimated women since ages due to ever existed patriarchal norms. They have been taught that their happiness as well as greatness lies in the happiness of others.. By taking the same issue, the present paper seeks to study the work of Arundhati Roy from feminine perspective. It also presents the constant struggle of women against their incessant exploitation, torture and struggle which they undergo because of the male dominated conservative society by depicting the inner life and conflicts of the women who have sacrificed their existence whole heartedly but still desperately crave for their identity. The revolt of all these female characters, their raising voice against the patriarchal norms along with their ultimate fate is also highlighted in the paper.
