Title

EXCESS THERMODYNAMIC FUNCTIONS OF 1,2,4-TRICHLOROBENZENE WITH ISOMERIC CRESOLS

Abstract

Densities(ρ) and speed of sound(u) have been experimentally determined for binary mixtures of 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene with isomeric cresols as a function of temperature at 303.15 K, 308.15 K and 313.15 K and at entire composition range. The density measurements of all the liquid mixtures were used to compute excess volume (VE), isentropic compressibility (Ks) and excess isentropic compressibility (KsE). The calculated excess parameters have been fitted to the Redlich-Kister equation and the results were analyzed in terms of molecular interactions and structural effects between component molecules. The speed of sound data of the investigated liquid mixtures was analyzed in terms of theoretical model, namely collision factor theory (CFT). Moreover, Excess partial molar volumes and compressibilities were also computed for the same mixtures.
