Abstract

Shopping plays a very important role in our day to day lives. It is an important contributor to our economy also. Due to paucity of time, consumers nowadays engage in online shopping to a great extent. Due to various offers and because of the time and convenience offered by online shopping sites the consumers now are more inclined towards purchasing online. The use of internet has drastically increased in the past decade and is being used now in each and every field. These days’ youngsters, professions, businessmen, educationists and other people from every part sector of the economy are making use of internet. Teenagers and youngsters can be seen online, most of the time busy tweeting on the social networking sites or chatting with their friends in the chat rooms. According to a study by ASSOCHAM- Resurgent India, the number of consumers who purchase online has crossed 100 million by 2017 end with e-retail market likely jumping 65% on year in 2018. Thus, the growth online shoppers in India have been tremendously growing in India. Hence, it becomes imperative to study such kind of consumer behavior. The present study aims to provide some insight into the factors that affecting the consumer online buying behavior in selected districts of Punjab. Information about these factors could help the marketers in knowing how consumer behaves while doing online shopping and how is this behavior different from the traditional shopping. This will also help in improving their strategies, which are built to convince and attract the customer towards shopping. The sampling procedure chosen is Convenience Sampling. Sample Size covered is 185 respondents in Punjab state
