Title

A STUDY ON SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ ATTITUDE TOWARDS USING NEW TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to examine the attitude of secondary school teachers towards using new technology in relation to sex and type of management. The current research was followed by descriptive survey method and quantitative approach. A sample of 132 teachers was selected using simple random sample procedure. The number of male teachers would be 66 and female would be 66 sample. Data was collected through Attitude towards Using New Technology Scale (ATUNTS) (2009) developed and standardized by Dr. S. Rajasekar was used to measure the Teachers’ Attitude towards using New Technology. The collected data was analyzed utilizing independent ‘t’ test in all cases the level of significance was fixed at 0.05 level of confidence. The statistical technique concluded that there was a significant difference in Attitude of secondary school male and female teachers towards using New Technology in teaching and also confirmed that there was a significant difference in Attitude towards using New Technology of secondary school teachers working in government and private aided schools; and teachers working in Government and Private unaided schools no difference exists in teachers working in private aided and private unaided schools. Teachers’ beliefs regarding teaching and learning changed over decades within a technology-rich environment, and these changes had manifested in modified classroom behaviour. Government and aided institutions should give important, they found that as teachers’ beliefs changed, so did their perceptions of how technology fit into the process of teaching and learning. The study suggests that teachers also save time transitioning between lesson resources and topics when using interactive whiteboards to present learning materials.
