The Leesh River is one of the tributary on left bank of Teesta River. It causes havoc erosion and created many depositional features. This directly and indirectly causing damages to land and people. Massive landslides in the up-stream caused material deposition in the midst of the valley; creating unusual shoals. This is further causing the braided water flow. This catchment area exhibits the human interference on fluvial system. Morphometric analysis can help us to have a close look to justify the inherent causes of such features of this river. It reveals the overall steepness of drainage basin and is considered an effective measure for showing the intensity of degradation process operating on slopes of that basin. Self-adjustment of water flow within the river bed depicts the evolution process of the river. Being unable to remove bed-loads the river bed is rising at very alarming rate.
