One of the most pressing challenges in the world today is the economic empowerment of women, and this issue has a very broad reach. Governmental and non-governmental organisations have recognised the increasing characteristics of micro firms as a new dimension with greater economic benefits. Self-help group programmes will empower women by enhancing their economic responsibilities, boosting their capacity to support their families financially, and exposing them to income-generating activities. The self-help group participation of women in Tirunelveli District's economic transition is the subject of the current study. In the Tirunelveli district, two villages with self-help group members were chosen for the study. A total of sixty self-help group members were ultimately chosen from the two villages. Both primary and secondary data were used in this investigation. Through scheduled interviews, the main data were gathered from the members of self-help groups in two villages in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district. The key findings revealed that the age groups of 30-39 and 40-49 actively participated in self-help group activities; 43 percent of members accessed loans between Rs10,000 and Rs15,000; and 37 out of 60 self-help group members, or 61.67 percent, mostly relied on their labour for savings.
