Neurodegeneration is defined as the progressive loss of structure and function of neurons including cell death. Huntington’s disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder caused by the unstable expansion of cytosine–adenine–guanine (CAG) repeats in the gene encoding for a protein called huntingtin (htt). The mutant protein might be responsible for alterations in some components of the cytoskeleton, thus leading to affected axonal transport and cell death. In order to study huntington’s disease impaired energy metabolism model using 3-Nitropropionic acid (10 mg/kg, i.p., for 14 days) was considered. Nebivolol , a beta blocker, appeared to function as an antioxidant , antiproliperative and an agonist for ppar-γ was used to treat the symptoms of huntington’s disease with the dose of 1 and 0.5 mg/kg, p.o.. BADGE (30 mg/kg, p.o.) was used as an antagonist acting on ppar-γ receptors.
