Title

MINUTIAE OF AGRICULTURAL LOAN & SUBSIDIES IN INDIA

Abstract

Agricultural is the backbone of Indian Economy. For that, Our Government provide lot of loans and subsidies to all types of formers to develop the agricultural and agricultural related business through banks like Government banks, private banks, co-operative societies, rural and urban banks. Kisan Credit Card (KCC) is a specially designed credit card for Farmers. This card gives the facilities of a hassle free and convenient credit to meet the day to day farming requirements. Farmer can use our overdraft facility to meet the cost of cultivation and working capital activities for farming and allied activities. Generally, agricultural loans are extended to all types of farmers in India. It is offered to small and marginal farmers, tenant farmers, share croppers and oral lessees. The farmers should fall in the age category of 18 years to 70 years. Banks offer term loans for buying cattle, purchase of equipment for irrigation and other agricultural requirements. Agriculture loans are generally low interest rate compare to other loans that helps to the farmers can avail to run their farming business more efficiently. The repayment period of the agricultural loans, minimum period of 3 years and maximum period of 7 years in monthly, half yearly and yearly installment as per farmer convenience. Agriculture loans helps to meet both short term and long term credit needs of farmers. The Government provides various subsidies like irrigation, power, seed, fertilizer, Infrastructure, credit subsidies. This study discusses the growth of agricultural loans & subsidies in India.
