The Advantages and challenges in introducing ITC at elementary Schools for the underprivileged children in Developing Countries; with Specific Reference to India

Abstract

ABSTRACT Education plays a very important role in every individual life. It not only develops a positive personality and strength to face the challenges of life in an individual but also helps the country to grow in terms of economic development. Thus, early childhood education and elementary education plays a very crucial role in the development of the child. The future of a nation depends on well-educated citizens. Realizing the importance of education many developing countries have pledged to provide free education and some developing countries like India are not only providing free but also compulsory elementary education. This research paper tries to analyze whether developing countries have succeeded in educating millions of children worldwide, who are living in poverty and below the poverty line. Whether the schemes and policies of the governments have succeeded in giving meaningful education for the children? Are children successfully learning in these schools? Can information and communication technology can be used to get better learning outcome from these children, are some of the issues that will be addressed in the paper. Keywords
