Title

Women entrepreneurship in e-commerce sector - Problems and opportunities

Abstract

For past few years, women entrepreneurs are promising as dynamic and smart entrepreneur .The Indian women performs two different roles in our developing economy , on one side she has to build up her career and on other hand take care of the household responsibilities as well. In e-commerce sector, women are experiencing comfort and freedom to execute both the role remarkably from home. There is incredible development of women entrepreneurs in the e-commerce sector like Falguni Nayyar, CEO of Nykaa and many others. E-commerce has simplified women entrepreneurs to save time in each step of the business cycle, like analyzing the business opportunities, the procurement of raw materials and searching for the sales leads online. Women have explored various entrepreneurial activities, but they frequently face lack of access to the credit and face many obstacles to ascertain and prosper their business. Every ecommerce entrepreneur faces a lot of dilemma in raising sufficient fund for business. For women entrepreneurs it is huge challenge to arrange funds on a standard basis. Obstacles are mainly linked with social un-acceptance , gender discrimination, low priority by the bankers to provide business loans, lack of proper and family responsibility as well . Incessant efforts has to be taken to motivate, inspire, cooperate encourage and motivate the women entrepreneur. Major Service provider like Amazon, Flipchart, and Snapdeal organize programmes and workshop to train the budding women entrepreneurs. Our study discloses the flourishing women entrepreneur in the e-commerce sector and the problems and opportunities faced by every women entrepreneur in this sector.
