Title

A STUDY ON EMOTIONAL MATURITY OF TEACHER TRAINEES IN RELATION TO SEX, TYPE OF MANAGEMENT AND LOCALITY

Abstract

An emotionally mature individual has the ability to make powerful adjustment with himself, individuals from his family, his friends in the institute, society and culture. Emotional maturity is the most basic segment of each human being. Students every one of the spines of the educational process and it is a process and acts likewise as an instrument to draw out the intrinsic behavior of the individual. The students of today are the youths of tomorrow and future nationals of the country. The investigation expects to discover an examination on emotional maturity of B.Ed student teachers. The purpose of the study is to know the emotional maturity level among teacher trainees. The sample comprised one hundred teacher trainees studying in B.Ed. Colleges of Mysore Division, Karnataka India by simple random sampling technique. Emotional Maturity Scale (2010) developed & standardized by Dr. Yashvir Singh and Dr. Mahesh Bhargava was utilized for data processing. Independent ‘t’ statistical technique was applied to examine the stated hypotheses. It was concluded that sex and type of management factors were influences on Emotional Maturity of teacher trainees. The male teacher trainees had highly emotional stable than female teacher trainees and private college teacher trainees had highly emotionally stable when compared with aided college teacher trainees. Emphasis should be laid on co-curricular activities to develop emotional maturity of the female students. Emotionally stable person knows how to control his excessive emotion, emotional progression helps a person to think positively towards environmental challenges, social adjustment makes a person to live and adjust to the society successfully.
